Cradle to Crayon's Childcare Center is a non-profit childcare center governed by the Associated Churches of Moundridge. We are here to be a service to the child, the parent and the community. Both Moridge Mfg. and Bradbury Inc. offers their employees a 20% discount on tuition. We are also an SRS provider.
Our center consists of 4 different rooms with varying age groups. Our infant room is licensed for 5 infants ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 months (if walking unassisted). The toddler room is licensed for 10 toddlers ranging in age from 1 year to 2 1/2 years. The multi-age room is licensed for 20 children age 2 1/2 years to 5 years. Our fourth room is used in a variety of different ways. It is licensed for 24 children and is our preschool room. It has the preschool children, age 3, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, prek children, age 4, on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. The after school kids also use this room when preschool is not in session and during the summer months.
Cradle To Crayons is a member of the Kansas Child and Adult Care Food Program. This allows Cradle To Crayons to receive a reimbursement from the state of Kansas for part of our food costs. While at the center, your child will receive a morning snack at 8:30AM, lunch at 11:45AM, and an afternoon snack at 3:00PM. All meals and snacks meet the CACFP guidelines. If a child is enrolled in our preschool only program, then they will receive a snack during their class time. Menus are always posted in each classroom as well as in the hall for parents to read. If a child requires a special diet or has any type of food allergy, just let us know at time of enrollment. We will make every accommodation that we can.
We are very blessed here at the center to have such a wonderful cook. Ninety-five percent of our meals and snacks are home-cooked. The children are exposed to a variety of meats as well as getting their fruits and vegetable on a daily basis. CACFP guidelines state that there must be a bread source with every meal, so the majority of our meals we enjoy a fresh baked homemade roll. On days that we serve hamburgers for lunch, we get to enjoy a homemade bun to go with it. Here are just a few of our lunch menus: Chicken Biscuit Casserole, Mixed Veggies, Apricots and Milk; Roast, Potatoes, Carrots and Onions, Orange Slices, roll and milk; Enchiladas, Corn, Pears, Bread and Milk; and the kid's favorite Ham Balls, Cheesy Potatoes, Mandarin Oranges, Roll and Milk. Some of the snack items are: Apples and Peanut Butter, Biscuits and Gravy, Monkey Bread, Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies and Animal Crackers.

General Purpose
Cradle to Crayons Childcare Center’s purpose is to provide a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children from the community and surrounding areas. The childcare center complements the home and family, we do not replace it. We are here to provide additional experiences for your children outside the home with their peers under the supervision of educated and trained professionals. We believe that every child should have a good start in life. We want the families to feel comfortable and secure with our staff and our facility and to know that their children are getting the best care and guidance during crucial years of development. Early childhood education is essential when a child’s individuality and academic foundations are being built. These early years of education are crucial when children develop relationships, establish values, and find they are people of worth. Our purpose is to assist children and their families during this time. We are open to all children of the community and surrounding areas without discrimination toward sex, race, creed, color, nationality, or religious beliefs.
