Cradle to Crayons Childcare
Center Director

Hello, my name is Liz Johnson.  I joined the Cradle to Crayons Childcare Center family in August of 2008.  I grew up in Pretty Prairie, Kansas and I am very proud to call Kansas home.  I went to college in Marshall, Missouri and I currently have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  My husband and I met in college where we were both very active members of the college rodeo team.  We both grew up on the rodeo trail.  He is a calf roper, team roper and steer wrestler, while I am a barrel racer and did a few years as rodeo queen.  We have one beautiful daughter, Cheyenne.

Hi there, my name is Mandy Lewis and I have been working at Cradle to Crayons Childcare Center since September 2008.  I will now let you know a little bit about myself.  I come from a small family and I grew up on a farm near Council Grove, KS.  Therefore, I have a huge love for animals.  I stepped out into the real world and moved here to Moundridge in the fall of 2006.  This is a great community which I am glad to call home.  I have one dog whose name is Ditto.
Now a little bit on how I run my classroom.  I have a daily schedule in my classroom which I help my toddlers to follow.  This way it will be easier for them to transition to the older aged classrooms.  The toddlers participate in circle time with me on a daily basis.  Art is also done on a daily basis.  They do anything from finger-painting, painting with coffee grounds, using shaving cream to paint, and many other fun activities.I really enjoy interacting with this age group.  They are always learning something new and I like watching them progress.  I look forward to meeting little ones, so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call.

Hi, my name is Nancy Ottley and I joined the Cradle To Crayons staff in Aug 2010.  I was born and raised in Salina Kansas.  I grew up with four sisters and two brothers and two wonderful parents.  When I divorced, I took my maiden name back, which is Ottley.  I have two sons, Kenny Colgin 22 who lives in Moundridge and Chad Colgin 23 who lives in North Carolina.  I moved to Moundridge in July 2008 and really like this city.  I enjoy fishing, bike riding, walking my dog Rowdy, and working in my flower garden

Hi, my name is Karen Wedel.  I joined the Cradle to Crayons family on June 25, 2009.  I am very excited to be here.  I have almost 3 years experience in a licensed daycare facility and am joining Cradle to Crayons Childcare Center as a lead teacher in the Multi-Age room.  I moved to Moundridge in 1990 and graduated from Moundridge High in 1994.  In 1999 I moved to North Carolina and in 2005 moved back to Moundridge and currently reside here with my two children, Shawn (5) and Krysta (10).  If you have any questions for me, or just want to stop in and meet me please do so.  I enjoy getting to know the parents as much as getting to know the children.

Hi, my name is Kacy Ediger and I am the lead teacher in the Multi-Age Room.  I have a daughter Brooklynn Rae, she will be 2 in December and we both live here in town.  I just got my classroom in March and I have a wonderful assistant Emily Wiebe.  I enjoy working here and being around the kids, they always have a way of making me laugh and smile everyday :) I'd say we have a pretty exciting classroom and we keep busy whether its doing arts and crafts or walking to different spots in town.

Head Cook

Hello, I am Becky Pohl and I am the cook at Cradles to Crayons. I have been cooking for the children and staff for the last two years. I enjoy cooking. I know that the kids will always let me know if they like or don’t like any of the food that I cook, and that is good to know. Children are so refreshing in this way. One of the favorite meals at the center is Ham Balls with Cheezy Potatoes. If anyone wants the recipe for something I cook at the center, I would be more than happy to give it to you.
